About our cabin
We designed and built this cabin with history and nature in mind. While it looks
like many of the historical homes in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park,
we want to make our own history while we're here. We hope you do, too.

Location
Bear Pause is located on the western edge of the Great Smoky Mountains. From here you can easily get to Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Gatlinburg, and the national park. Or, you can just sit on one
of the three porches and take in the beauty
of God's creation.
Bedrooms
The cabin offers three bedrooms featuring custom built furniture and queen-sized beds. Another queen-sized bed can be found in the library. Two more inflatable queen-sized beds can be found in the basement closet. In all, you can comfortably sleep up to 12 people.

Great Rooms
There are two large gathering spaces. The Great Room on the main floor offers a comfortable gathering space with a gas fireplace. The basement has another large place for your family to gather around the 8 foot table and play games, build puzzles and make memories.
Kitchen
A fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances is waiting for you and your family to make yourselves at home.

Entertainment
While you come to the mountains to enjoy the great outdoors, sometimes you just need to relax. That's why we've included several things to make your time in the cabin more entertaining. There's high speed internet available through WiFi. There are two televisions, including one 82" monster in the Media Room, that offer streaming services like YouTubeTv and Netflix.

Porches
You've come to the mountains to see the mountains. You can see them from any one of three porches at Bear Pause.

Sundry Details
You have house full of family and friends. The little details matter. There are two full baths, one with a tub, and two half baths. A washer and dryer are conveniently located on the main floor.
Nature
At Bear Pause you'll be surrounded by nature not neighbors. We have seen bears, coyote, turkeys, and deer. The rumor is there's a bobcat in the area but we've not seen it. Bear in mind (no pun intended) this also means there are plenty of insects. Don't be surprised, if you see some.

Views
Did we mention the views? Watch the sunset from every bedroom. Watch the smoke of the Smoky rising out of the valleys before you.
